FIVE men have been arrested in connection with a brawl which broke out in Long Buckby on Tuesday night (October 18) at around 9.30pm.
The men, all from Daventry, handed themselves in at Daventry Police Station this morning (Thursday October 20) and were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. They are currently being held in custody for questioning.
Police say there was a ‘dispute’ involving seven to ten men in the area around Pytchley Drive at around 9.30pm.
The men, who were wearing hoods and balaclavas, were also seen near the Co-Op in High Street around the same time.
A blue Ford Focus and a black Audi may also be linked to the incident.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident.
Sergeant Sam Dobbs said: “This was an isolated incident between people who know, or know of, each other and I have no reason to believe it would escalate or extend into the wider community.
“Having said that, this was a serious incident of public disorder and we are therefore launching an investigation into it.
“I urge anyone who believes they may have information about the people or cars to report it, either to us or anonymously via Crimestoppers.”
