AN EXHIBITION of textiles and mixed media work opens at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum this week.
The exhibition features contemporary stitched art textiles created by the Visualise group.
Formed in Northamptonshire several years ago by like-minded artists, the central midlands group creates diverse work – with stitch as the common thread.
The group meets regularly in Welford, Northamptonshire, with the aim of promoting creativity with rigorous discipline, underpinned by an interest in the history of textiles worldwide.
A spokesperson said: “On display will be abstract and figurative pieces of art using a wide variety of media – paper, fabric and found objects.
These are hand and machine stitched, or felted to create art inspired by both the natural world and the built environment.”
The group will have a selection of accessories, gifts, creative packs and cards on sale.
The exhibition takes place at the Little Elborow Street venue’s Floor One Gallery from Tuesday (March 12) to Saturday March 23.
