More support for job seekers

JOB SEEKERS in Rugby now have access to more support thanks to a new job club.

The club at Overslade Community Centre (OCC) on Buchanan Road will run every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 1pm – and will provide ongoing support to those seeking employment.

There will be free access to computers, the internet and help with CV writing and interview skills. The Job Club will also provide a space for job seekers to share their experiences.

Coun Marion Nash, who has helped in setting up the club, said: “Being unemployed can be hard to deal with on your own, but being part of a club means people will face the challenge with others in similar situations. The OCC Job Club will provide a relaxed environment with the chance to meet other job seekers, get advice, learn new skills and gain the tools and confidence people need to find work.”
