Mother of Rugby woman who murdered her children found dead - reports

THE MOTHER of Louise Porton – the Rugby woman who murdered her two young children – has been found dead, according to reports.

Sharon Porton was found dead at her home in Willenhall, Walsall on Sunday (February 2), The Sun has reported.

West Midlands Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Louise Porton was branded ‘sinister and calculated’ by a judge when she was jailed for life last August for killing daughters Lexi Draper, three, and 16-month-old Scarlett Vaughan because they got in the way of her sex work.

The Sun reported Louise’s cousin Kerry Porton as saying Sharon “apparently felt the need to take her own life” because she was tormented and upset by what Louise did.

It is understood Louise, currently serving a minimum of 32 years in prison, has been informed of her mother’s death.

During Porton’s trial, the court heard Lexi was found unconscious at her home after being suffocated in the early hours of January 15, 2018 and later died in hospital.

Her little sister Scarlett passed away after falling ill 18 days later as a result of having her neck compressed.

The court was told how ‘calm and emotionless’ Porton ‘squeezed the life’ out of them.

She would do ‘whatever she could not to have them with her’ and considered the kids a burden who got in the way of her x-rated lifestyle.

On the night of Lexi’s murder, Porton’s ‘sinister’ internet history revealed visits to websites with information about the period during which resuscitation can be effective, and the time it takes for a body to go cold after death.

She was also heard laughing on the phone while arranging Lexi’s funeral at an undertakers.
