FRUSTRATIONS of local businesses can be taken to the top after Rugby’s MP asked companies in the area to identify what is stopping them from growing.
Mark Pawsey is investigating concerns over ‘barriers to growth’ that have been raised by Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce’s Rugby branch.
Issues included a lack of commercial space, slow broadband speeds and a shortage of skilled workers in the town.
Mr Pawsey wants to know of any other issues which he can raise with the government.
He said: “It’s important businesses get in touch and let me know of any barriers to growth that they are experiencing.
“I can then feed this information back to the government, as there are activities and measures we can take to support and encourage small businesses to grow.”
Karen Shuter, chair of the chamber’s Rugby branch, added: “It does seem like many different sectors are experiencing similar kinds of problem areas.
“I am pleased that Mark Pawsey has listened to these issues and has shown an interest in helping.”
