Murder arrest woman released as police keep 'open mind' on man's death

A WOMAN arrested on suspicion of murder has been released.

The 40-year-old from Rugby – who was arrested after a man’s body was found in a communal area at Avon Court in Avon Street – was released with no further action to be taken at this time.

Police were called to the scene at 10.25am on Wednesday (November 22). The man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Detective Inspector Paul Thompson said: “Our investigations are ongoing to establish how the man died. At this time we are treating the death as unexplained and are keeping an open mind as to exactly what happened.

“At this stage we believe the victim is a 62-year-old man from Rugby. We are awaiting formal identification at which point we will be in a position to make more information available.

“We’re keen to trace the man’s final movements and would like to speak to anyone who saw or spoke to him between Sunday (November 18) and when he was found dead.”
