Murder suspect arrested after man found dead in Rugby home

A MURDER suspect has been arrested after a Rugby man was found dead in his home yesterday (Sunday July 2).

Police were called to George Street at around 5.20pm after paramedics found the 61-year-old man.

At around 6.45pm, a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.

Officers and detectives remain on the scene today (Monday July 3).




Det Insp Gareth Unett said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s friends at family at this time.

“Though we are treating this as an isolated incident, residents will notice an increased police presence in the area – both to ensure they feel safe and to conduct further enquiries.


“Our investigation is ongoing and I would ask anyone with information to contact us.”
