A MURDER suspect has died in prison while awaiting trial.
Surendra Patel, 78, died while he was remanded in prison.
Mr Patel was charged with murder last month following the discovery of the body of a woman in her 70s at a property in Aqua Place on October 8.
No details have been released about his death.
The police investigation into the woman’s death is now over, and will be a matter for the coroner.
