New bus stop means easier ride to Rugby's hospital

NEXT stop, St Cross – patients and visitors who travel by bus to Rugby’s hospital will have an easier ride now its bus stop has been moved.

The new stop will make it easier to access the hospital.

Clive Robinson, Sustainability Manager for University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) said: “We strive to continually improve the experience of customers using bus services to get to and from the Hospital of St Cross.

“We hope that the new location of this stop will make getting into the hospital easier and safer.

“The Trust supports sustainable travel solutions that improve health. One full bus takes 60 cars off the road, which improves air quality, improves physical activity and reduces noise, while improving health and wellbeing.”

Sue Hillman, Chairperson of the Rugby Disability Forum said: “The bus stop is a lower stop which is easier for disabled patients. At the Rugby Disability Forum we promote accessibility for disabled people and if more bus stops were like this I would use them more often.”

UHCW will continue to work with Warwickshire County Council and Travel de Courcey to improve services.
