New home planned for village post office

Rugby Editorial 18th Jun, 2014 Updated: 27th Oct, 2016   0

DUNCHURCH Post Office is set to reopen at new premises.

A planning application has been submitted to relocate it to the former Mill Outlet on Southam Road.

The village has been without a post office since the closure of the branch on Coventry Road in May.

Parish councillors said they would have welcomed the opportunity to accommodate it in the Community Library.

A Post Office spokesman said: “The premises housing Dunchurch Post Office was withdrawn for Post Office use last month.

“We are working hard to find a permanent location and we hope to be able to provide further information on a proposed new location soon.

“We know how important services are to people in Dunchurch and we are committed to maintaining services in the area.

“We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused and thank them for their understanding.”

The planning application is open to public comment until July 3.
