NINE days of Christmas celebrations are being lined up to mark the first festive season at Rugby’s new neighbourhood.

Houlton is set to sparkle on Saturday (December 9) at its first Christmas light switch on, with an afternoon of activities for the whole family taking place between 10am and 5pm.

Mayor Belinda Garcia will turn on the lights at 4pm, and The Rotary Club of Rugby Dunsmore will provide live entertainment and carol singing from 2pm, with performances from The Dunchurch Voices, Rugby’s Young Musician of the Year 2017, Dunchurch Brass Band and Rugby Male Voice Choir.

Handcrafted Delights’ Christmas Craft Fair will showcase handmade wares, decorations and gifts from The Barn at 10am-4pm on Saturday December 9 and Sunday December 10.

The new suburb will also host Christmas crafts and activities from Monday (December 11) to Sunday December 17, including wreath making, a Christmas felting workshop, a free festive interior workshop, and a free Bright Bricks Lego session.

Father Christmas pays a visit on Saturday December 16 and Sunday December 17 from 11am-3pm. He will be joined by balloon modellers, elves, and real-life reindeer until 2pm.
