FRIENDLY figures have appeared on a landmark roundabout to welcome drivers into Rugby.
Sculptures of people enjoying the outdoors are the focal point of a revamp of the former Mr Kipling roundabout in Leicester Road.
The cake company removed its name from the roundabout after closing its 31-year-old Rugby distribution centre last year.
New sponsors Urban&Civic, the master developer of the Houlton estate taking shape on the former radio mast site, has added the sculptures – along with new plants, flowers, brickwork and signage – as part of the Rugby in Bloom initiative.
Johanne Thomas of Urban&Civic said: “We are delighted to reveal the new installation on the iconic Leicester Road roundabout as part of our ongoing support for the Rugby in Bloom initiative.
“Its design symbolises the blossoming community at Houlton, and reflects our focus on creating excellent green open spaces for families at Houlton.
“We hope the people of Rugby will enjoy the roundabout’s new display.”
