NINE people have been arrested in Warwickshire this week in connection with drug offences in the county.
Officers from Rugby Serious and Organised Crime Team arrested a man on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs after stopping a car on the M6 on Wednesday (November 22).
The arrest of the 31-year-old man from Coventry was linked to the seizure of a large amount of cocaine from a house in Rugby last month.
Following his arrest, officers searched a house in Maple Road in Rugby where cocaine was seized and a 33-year-old woman from Rugby was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.
On the same day, officers from Rugby Safer Neighbourhood Team raided a house in Aster Drive where they seized suspected class A drugs and cannabis. A 59-year-old man from Rugby was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.
In Leamington, plain clothed detectives from the town’s Serious and Organised Crime Team detained two men after spotting a suspected drug deal in The Parade. Crack cocaine worth £200 and £500 in cash were seized.
A 45-year-old man from Leamington was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs and a 33-year-old man from Leamington was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
In Warwick, officers executed a warrant at a house in Cowper Close where they seized almost 170 cannabis plants.
And three men were arrested as part of an investigation into the supply of cocaine into Bedworth, following raids at houses in Bedworth and Coventry.
