Nursery's intrepid efforts raise thousands for mental health charity

CLIMBING Snowdon, sleeping rough, a go-karting challenge and a 5k run were just some of the fund-raising events that helped staff at a nursery win a charity fund-raising award.

The team at Nature Trails Day Nursery in Cawston raised over £4,150 for mental health charity Mind, earning them a Special Contribution award from parent company Childbase Partnership.

Their contribution went towards the £165,000 company-wide total raised by all 43 Childbase branches around the country.

The money will go towards services such as the charity’s Infoline telephone service, and help fund awareness campaigns and support given to sufferers.

Louise Gulliver from Nature Trails said: “We are so thrilled to be making this donation to Mind, and to receive the Special Contribution Award for our efforts is an added bonus.

“We’ve had a brilliant time fund-raising and couldn’t have done this without the generosity of our nursery families. We are now looking forward to spending the year ahead raising money for Cancer Research UK.”

Over the last 30 years the Childbase Partnership has raised over £3 million pounds for charities such as Alzheimer’s Society and Children’s Air Ambulance.
