FAMILIES were led on an exploration of the great outdoors by a TV ecologist.
Mike Dilger, best known for his work on The One Show, hosted A Really Wild Adventure in Houlton.
The special guest took over 120 children and parents on a bug hunt around the new neighbourhood’s ecological habitats and green spaces.
Staff from Warwickshire Wildlife Trust organised nature-inspired games, activities and educational presentations.
Returning to Houlton having welcomed over 80 children and their families to last year’s event, Mike said: “The wildlife just beyond our doorstep is many people’s first interface with nature, and I was delighted to be invited back to come and enthuse Houlton’s families about the birds, bees and butterflies living alongside them in this greenest of neighbourhoods.”
Houlton Visitor Centre Manager Galina Bardarska said: “We’re proud that the development is already home to a wide variety of ecological habitats and mature green spaces.”
