LIVE open-air music and theatre is coming to Hillmorton this weekend.

Hillmorton and East Rugby Together Community Group (HEaRT) is putting on a day of entertainment at Featherbed Lane Recreation Ground in Hillmorton on Saturday (August 14).

HEaRT is working with directors, amateur actors and young musicians to bring the ‘mini festival’ to life.

The event will consist of three short comedy plays by local writers, directors and actors.

Music will be provided by Nicky Newman, a singer-songwriter whose debut single reached number three in the singer-songwriters iTunes Chart.

HEaRT Co-chair Jill Dwyer said: “The outdoor entertainment is part of our efforts to bring fun and enjoyment to residents

“HEaRT is putting its volunteer power and funding behind the event to showcase the work of local writers and musicians and give everyone something to smile about.

“We are so excited about bringing this fun light entertainment event to Hillmorton for everyone to enjoy. The brilliant and dedicated actors, directors and musicians will ensure this is a fantastic event.

“We hope as many people as possible come along, support their local community group and have fun.”

The event begins at 6pm on Saturday (August 14). It is free to attend, but donations are welcome to support the work of the community group.

Food and non-alcoholic cocktails and soft drinks will be on sale. Audience members just need to bring their own folding chairs or picnic rugs.
