Pair arrested as drug crime crackdown in Rugby continues

TWO SUSPECTED drug dealers have been arrested as part of an ongoing crackdown on drug crime in Rugby.

The men were arrested by plain clothed officers from Rugby Proactive CID after they spotted a suspected drug deal in Reservoir Road on Tuesday April 20, and seized suspected crack cocaine and a large machete.

An 18-year-old man from Northampton was arrested on suspicion of possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply and possession of a knife. He has been bailed until next month while enquiries continue.

A 34-year-old man from Rugby was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.




Detective Constable Tom Quinlan from Rugby Proactive CID: “We are working hard to tackle drug dealing in Rugby. These arrests are part of our efforts to stop the supply of drugs and the violent crime associated with it.”
