Pedestrian dies following collision with lorry on M1 near Lutterworth

A PEDESTRIAN has died after being hit by a lorry on the M1 near Lutterworth.

Police were called at around 7.50am this morning (Wednesday August 23) to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and an HGV close to junction 20 on the northbound carriageway.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was not injured.

At 1.10pm today, Leicestershire Police reported that the northbound carriageway remained closed while investigations continued at the scene. The southbound carriageway was closed but has since reopened.




Officers from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation unit are investigating the collision and appealing for witnesses.
