A PENSIONER has died after being hit by a bus in Rugby on Saturday (September 13).

A man in his 80s suffered serious head and neck injuries and later died in hospital after he was hit by a double decker bus, travelling towards the town centre on Hillmorton Road around 12.10pm.

The man was given emergency treatment and was anaesthetised at the scene, before being taken by air ambulance to Walsgrave Hospital where he later died.

A woman in her 90s who was on the bus also sustained minor injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the accident, or anyone who saw the bus or victim, to come forward. Call 101 quoting incident number 172 of September 13.
