Peter Rabbit's Rugby visit is a cracking success

Rugby Editorial 13th Apr, 2024   0

A CRACKING success – hundreds of children have spent the Easter holidays hopping around Rugby town centre searching for Peter Rabbit and his tasty treats.

The Peter Rabbit themed Easter egg hunt saw kids put on their bunny ears and go off in search of an encounter and a photograph with the lovable rogue rabbit – as well as taking part in a host of Easter activities.

The event was organised by Rugby First in partnership with Hunt’s Bookshop and other Rugby town centre businesses, including Nuova, Ashleys, Shine a Light, Max Spielmann, Jean’s Flowers, Abraxas, Izzy Loops, Sass, Carvells Electrical, Eliza Doolittle, Rugby Electrical, Copper Tree and Yum Yum World.

Christopher Hunt from Hunt’s Bookshop said: “It’s certainly been an egg-septional two weeks of fun, and far busier than we expected. The egg hunt, story-telling sessions and Peter Rabbit have proved to be hugely popular.

“If you have enjoyed this event look out for the next activity planned for the summer school holidays.”

Rugby First Business Director Linda Lowne said: “I am delighted with how popular the hunt has proved to be with children and their families over the Easter break.

“Those businesses that took part have seen increased footfall, awareness, and undoubtedly sales as well as having some fun, while at the same time helping to put smiles on children’s faces.

“It’s really important to remember that it is the town centre businesses that have paid for and helped to organise the hunt, and it would be great if we can continue to shop local and support them in what is a very difficult climate.

“If you enjoyed this event why not visit our next town centre event – The Rugby Spring Food and Drink Festival, which takes place on Saturday 20 April.”
