Photographers in focus at annual exhibition in Leamington

Rugby Editorial 25th Apr, 2024   0

THERE goes the bus.

That’s the title of this colourful photograph taken at the top of the Parade in Leamington by Martin Johnson.

The picture was the winner of the Club-level Digital class at the recent Leamington Spa Photographic Society annual awards.

It is just one of many eye-catching images captured by members which feature in the society’s annual exhibition which can be seen at Leamington’s All Saints’ Parish Church from April 27 to May 5.

The exhibition, featuring around 200 prints and digital images, is open from 10.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday, and from noon to 5pm on Sundays.

The exhibition will also be available to view online at www.lsps.org.uk from Saturday.

The society, which boasts members from across the region, has a number of speakers throughout the year and stages a series of competitions for members.

It also has several special interest groups focused on specific genres and interests ranging from abstract and macro photography to portraiture, street photography and landscapes.

Society chairman Peter Chappell said: “LSPS continues to be a thriving community of photographers, with a strong programme of presenters, competitions and practical demonstrations. It has been particularly pleasing to see new members actively engaging with the range of opportunities the society offers.”
