Photographers invited to capture wildlife around Rugby

BUDDING photographers are invited to join in a competition launched to showcase wildlife around the Rugby countryside.

The developer behind the Houlton neighbourhood at the old mast site is calling on residents to share the photos they capture out on their daily walks, with 10 winners getting the chance to have their photograph professionally printed on canvas.

Rugby residents are encouraged to share their photos – whether taken with professional equipment or on a mobile phone – with Houlton via the Facebook page ‘Houlton Rugby’.

The top 20 photographs will feature at a photography exhibition at Houlton later this year.

Galina Bardarska, marketing lead at Houlton, said: “We’re calling on budding photographers to pick up their cameras and capture what they see on their daily walks, whether its beautiful wildflowers, feathered friends or little critters – there’s so much to see in and around Houlton.

“We are dedicated to helping create and preserve natural spaces throughout Houlton, and we’re proud that the development is already home to a wide variety of ecological habitats and mature green spaces.

“So, whether you venture a little further afield or capture something beautiful in your own back garden, we want to celebrate Houlton and Rugby in full bloom this summer.”

Entries will be accepted via the Houlton Rugby Facebook page until Friday July 31. Visit https://bit.ly/2LYXvMO for terms and conditions.
