A PLAY day at Whitehall Rec today (Wednesday August 3; 11am-3pm) is just one of a range of sports, play, museum and arty activities for kids on offer from Rugby Borough Council this summer.

This summer’s SMART Programme, aimed at youngsters during the school holidays, includes chances to try out table tennis, badminton, golf, archery, horse riding, sailing, tennis and trampolining – as well as outdoor play sessions.

The Rugby Art Gallery and Museum is also offering a range of arts and crafts drop-in activities, including Super Shapes Hunt, Little Discoveries, Heroic Helmets, Pattern Printing, Lampshade Making, Stitching and Needlework and a Pottery Day.

Charges and age restrictions apply to some activities – visit www.rugby.gov.uk/ info/20045/play_schemes/97/smart_activities for more information.

SHOPPERS and bored kids can kill two birds with one stone on Thursdays during the summer break.

Elliott’s Field Retail Park is running a range of creative and hands-on activities for families and children throughout the six weeks of summer holidays.
