PLAYHEM was unleashed at a Rugby park yesterday (Wednesday August 7) as part of a national initiative to get children outside and active.
Whitehall Recreation Ground hosted the National Play Day event – the theme of which was ‘spaces for play’, to recognise every child’s right to accessible play.
Rugby Borough Council play rangers, local groups and providers invited kids to take on inflatable slides and obstacles, a climbing wall, soft archery, arts and crafts, parkour workshops, early years activities, circus workshops, and a mash up of play and multisport provided by the council’s Sport and Leisure team.
Families brought along picnics and sampled food from local stalls.
And The Observer went along to take a few summer snaps.
