Rugby Editorial 6th Jun, 2022   0

POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information in relation to an assault in Dunchurch Road on Friday May 27.

At around 3.50pm, a woman in her 30s reported being attacked by a group of teenage girls near the junction with Russelsheim Way.

The woman suffered a head wound and was treated in hospital before being released later the same day.

PC Josie Manzella said: “At this time we believe the victim and suspects were known to each other and we’re keen to get a full picture of what happened in the moments leading up to this incident.

“The incident occurred shortly after school pick up time so there were a lot of people in the area who may have witnessed this altercation.

“We also believe someone stopped to help the victim and we’re keen for this person to make contact with us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police, quoting incident 195 of May 27, by visiting www.warwickshire.police.uk/report or calling 101.

Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or on 0800 555 111.
