Police appeal for witnesses after car hits pedestrian in Rugby and fails to stop

A PEDESTRIAN was struck by a car in a hit-and-run collision in Leicester Road on Saturday night (November 14).

A Ford Fiesta, thought to be silver, is understood to have entered the island by Tesco and mounted the pavement before colliding with the pedestrian near the entrance of Elliott’s Field.

The victim, a man in his 40s, sustained an ankle injury which is not thought to be life-changing.

The driver headed off towards Brownsover.




Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the incident, or who saw the vehicle and the manner in which it was being driven prior to the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 365 of November 14.
