‘A SAFER Warwickshire’ – that is the pledge from Warwickshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), who has unveiled his priorities for the next four years.
The county’s new Police and Crime Plan has set out PCC Philip Seccombe’s commitments to strengthen policing, safeguard people and protect communities.
He has pledged to ensure victims are heard, crime is prevented, communities feel empowered, partners work together effectively, and money is spent wisely to benefit residents.
Mr Seccombe said: “Having engaged with communities across the county, I am proud to present this latest Police and Crime Plan which reflects the issues which matter most to those who live and work in our county.
“This plan is my commitment to ensuring Warwickshire Police delivers the highest standards of service, with a clear focus on tackling crime, protecting the vulnerable, and building public confidence in policing.”
The strategy proposes to increase policing effectiveness, boost neighbourhood policing and ensure high standards of conduct and service.
Plans to reduce violent crime, tackle abuse and exploitation, and halve serious road injuries and deaths by 2030 are also laid out in the document.
It also proposes to combat organised crime, reduce theft and burglary, address rural crime and tackle anti-social behaviour.
The plan’s five ‘foundational themes’ are support for victims, crime prevention, community empowerment, partnership working, and ensuring value for money.
The plan has been developed following a public consultation, with input from communities, policing professionals, and partner organisations.
Mr Seccombe added: “It is not just a document – it’s a roadmap for action. It reflects the voices of those I represent and sets clear expectations for policing in Warwickshire.
“I encourage everyone to read the plan, engage with the priorities and work with us to build a safer Warwickshire for all.”
Warwickshire Police’s Chief Constable Alex Franklin-Smith added: “The people of Warwickshire deserve the very best policing we can provide.
“Our officers, staff and volunteers have public service at the core of why they do what they do and collectively we will work hard to successfully deliver against the Commissioner’s new plan for the county.”
