TEENAGERS are being encouraged to become police cadets.
Warwickshire Police’s two year-long cadet programme offers 16 year-olds an opportunity to gain a practical understanding of policing.
Cadets take part in a variety of activities including self-defence training, marching, fitness, team building, role playing and outward bound events.
A Warwickshire Police spokesman said: “If you become a police cadet, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that as a young person you are making a difference to your community and developing yourself for any future career.”
Cadets attend weekly meetings and to give 15 hours of voluntary work per quarter. Meetings take place every Thursday evening at Warwickshire College in Leamington.
Only 14 places are available and applications must be submitted by February 29.
