Police hunt masked car thief trio in Rugby

MASKED robbers turfed a man out of his car and stole it from a pub car park.

A man in his 60s was sat in his red Ford Ka with the engine running in the car park at the Holly Bush, Lawford Road, when he was approached by three unknown men at around 4.10am on October 27.

They demanded he get out of the car, got in and drove off.

The men are described as wearing balaclavas, and one of them was carrying an unknown object.

The car was later recovered nearby.

DC Rob Ewington of Rugby CID said: “I would like to reassure the local community that incidents like this are rare in the area and thankfully nobody was hurt.

“Officers have been following a number of lines of enquiry and I am asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 30 of October 27.”
