A ‘FRIGHTENING ordeal’ was endured by a teenage girl when a man tried to abduct her on Friday evening (November 4).

The 16-year-old girl was approached by a man in Holbrook Avenue at around 10.20pm. He grabbed her by the arm and told her to go with him, but she managed to get away.

The man is described as 5ft 5ins tall and of slim build. He was wearing dark clothing with a hood up and clothing covering his face. He left the area in a small hatchback car.

Detective Sergeant Sean Tonelli said: “This man has put the young girl through a frightening ordeal and we need to trace him.

“Fortunately these type of incidents are rare but there are extra patrols in the area while enquiries continue.”

Anyone who has any information should contact police on 101 asking for Rugby CID, quoting incident 545 of November 4.
