A BYSTANDER who helped an assault victim is being asked to contact police to help with their investigation.

The assault happened outside Midas Lounge in Church Street just after 1.30am on Thursday December 19.

The woman pictured is believed to have helped the victim into the silver car after coming out of a bar.

A police spokesperson said: “The vehicle could be a Vauxhall Zafira or a Peugeot 207 SW.

“We appreciate the poor quality of the images – however the driver of the vehicle may recognise herself.”

Anyone who can identify the woman is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 236 of December 19.

POLICE are also looking for a man who may have information about an incident which occurred in Park Road at around 5.15pm on Thursday January 16.

The man is described as in his mid-30s, around 5ft 7in tall, was wearing a dark woolly hat and carrying a damaged bicycle.

The incident resulted in a man requiring surgery for a fracture cheekbone and eye socket.

Anyone who can identify the man or was in the area at the time is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 340 of January 16.
