Police seek couple to assist with enquiries into knife-wielding shoplifter

POLICE investigating an incident in Long Buckby where a shoplifter threatened store staff with a knife have released photos of two people they would like to trace.

At around 3.20pm on Saturday February 13, a man entered the Co-op store in High Street, Long Buckby and passed around £150 worth of alcohol and other goods to a woman outside, before the pair ran off.

Two members of staff chased them out into the street, causing them to stop running outside the public toilets where the woman produced a knife and thrust it at the staff members while threatening to stab them.

The offenders then went down Station Road and into William Road.

Following a previous appeal for information, officers have now released CCTV images of a man and a woman they believe may be able to assist their investigation.

The man and woman pictured, or anyone who recognises them or knows where they are, are asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
