POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an attempted assault near a supermarket car park in Brownsover.
A car accelerated towards a woman who was walking towards a crossing outside Tesco in Helvellyn Way at around 7pm on Thursday January 26.
The woman in her 30s jumped out of the way and was not injured – but the incident is being treated as attempted assault.
Police are asking for anyone who was in or near the car park or crossing at the junction where Helvellyn Way meets Hollowell Way to come forward.
