Police seek witnesses to unprovoked attack in Rugby

AN UNPROVOKED assault with an unknown weapon left an 18-year-old man with head injuries.

The victim was attacked and hit on the back of the head with an unknown item when he was outside Rugby Lions Rugby Club on Webb Ellis Road at around 12.15am on Saturday February 18.

He suffered cuts to his head and was treated at the scene by ambulance staff.

Police are asking anyone who saw the assault, who witnessed anyone acting suspiciously or who was in the area at the time to come forward.




Officers are also keen to speak to anyone who attended a fund-raising event at the venue that evening.
