KNIVES and drugs were seized by police while on patrol in Rugby yesterday afternoon (Thursday September 17).
Officers from Rugby’s Proactive CID team were on patrol on Bath Street just after 3pm when they saw three men behaving suspiciously.
The officers searched two Rugby men, aged 19 and 21, and found a quantity of cannabis and four knives on them.
They were arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and possession of an offensive weapon. Both men have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
A police spokesperson said carrying weapons comes with a mandatory jail sentence of six months for a second offence.
