Police stop van using stinger device to deflate tyres

A DRIVER was brought to a dramatic halt when police used a stinger device to deflate his tyres.

A white Vauxhall Combo van which had false number plates was stopped on Friday morning (October 25).

The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving offences as well as possession of cannabis and theft of motor vehicle.

That night, Daniel Green of Rugby was charged with driving without insurance or a licence, and assaulting an emergency worker.




He was also charged with a second count of driving without insurance or a licence and failing to stop for police following an incident on October 2.

An in relation to an incident on September 7-8, Green was also charged with dangerous driving, driving with excess alcohol, driving with no licence or insurance, and racially aggravated offences against police officers.


He was remanded in custody and was due to appear in court on Saturday (October 26).
