PUPILS at Cawston Grange Primary School enhanced their debating skills during a visit by students from Rugby High School.
Eight pupils from Year 6 constructed their arguments before partaking in a final debate – on the thorny issue of homework – at the end of the school day.
Rebecca, a pupil who took part, said: “I was surprised by how fun debating was but I never knew you had to be so serious.
“I also learnt that when you are debating, you have to communicate with your team-mates and work together.”
The eight pupils who took part are now due to act as mentors for the rest of Year 6 when they hold their own formal debates later this term.
