A PROUD apprentice plumber has been presented with a trophy by his employers in recognition of his ‘excellence and professionalism’.
Kilsby man Ben Elliot, who works at Bellway’s Houlton Meadows development in Rugby, was highly commended in Bellway’s Apprentice of the Year awards – one of just two apprentices from across the country to be recognised behind the competition’s overall winner.
He was presented with his award in August by Ben Smith, Managing Director of Bellway South Midlands.
Ben said: “It is great to know that your efforts aren’t going unnoticed by your employer, and this award has given me that extra boost to continue to complete my work to the highest possible standards.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on site to date and it is always a pleasure to come into work here. The team at Houlton Meadows are all great to work with and there is always a lively and friendly atmosphere on site.
“I am looking forward to continuing to work hard over the next year towards my NVQ Level 3 plumbing qualification, and to hopefully becoming fully qualified as a plumber in the not-too-distant future.”
Ben Smith said: “It was a pleasure to have presented Ben with this trophy in recognition of his hard work on the Houlton Meadows site over the last 12 months.

Ben is a perfect example of the type of individual that we are keen to have as part of our company, and the excellence he has demonstrated on site has resulted in him receiving this commendation as part of these national awards.
