Proud care home staff 'thrilled' at 'Good' rating following inspection

PROUD staff at a Rugby care home are ‘thrilled’ after receiving a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission.

The health watchdog praised Anya Court Care Home for its ‘positive and person-centred culture’.

The Dunchurch Road home was rated as ‘Good’ in the areas of ‘safe,’ ‘effective’ ‘caring’ ‘responsive’ and ‘well led.’

The report, based on an unannounced inspection which took place in August, said: “People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives, and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.”

A resident quoted in the report said: “I feel safe with the staff, the staff are like family.”

The report also quoted a resident’s relative, who said: “They all do their job excellently and they do it with a smile. I can only give them the highest of praise. The staff are incredible at all levels from the registered manager to the cleaners.”

The home’s General Manager Michelle Sides said: “I am absolutely thrilled.

“I am so proud of the team here at Anya Court who over the past 18 months through their dedication and commitment have strived to ensure we deliver the standard of care expected of us.

“It is an honour to lead them, they are amazing to work with and I have never doubted their ability to achieve this result.”
