Ready to rock - bands announced for Bikefest

Rugby Editorial 8th May, 2024   0

ROARING to go – one of Rugby’s biggest annual events has announced the line-up of bands who will help to kick-start the summer next weekend.

The Rugby Bikefest – which goes full throttle on Sunday May 19 from 10.30am to 4pm – will feature performances by Visitation, Monday Nights, Spitfire, The Great Central, White Tyger, The Passerines, Rising Sons, Soul Revival, Magindara and Break the Rules.

The live music will take place on two stages in Market Place and Church Street.

The free event, organised by Rugby First in conjunction with local motorcycling groups, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.

It will roar into life as hundreds of bikes join the traditional Ride-In, and will also feature stalls, bike and car displays, food and drink, a funfair, children’s entertainment and stunt shows around the town centre and in Caldecott Park.

A bike park will be in operation in the John Barford car park via Railway Terrace, and a Helmet Park will be available outside St Andrew’s Church.

Rugby First Business Director Linda Lowne said: “I can’t believe it’s the tenth anniversary of Rugby Bikefest and I am delighted that it is continuing to go from strength to strength.

“Thousands of people come into the town centre and it is a great ‘shop window’ for Rugby, as well as providing a significant boost to the town centre economy.

“This year we will also be using part of ASDA’s car park for a range of displays and activities, including the Extreme Bike Battle stunt team and Moto gymkhana.

“I would like to say a massive thank you to the local biking groups and musicians that support this event, as without their help, support, passion and enthusiasm it would not be possible to deliver such a successful event.”
