‘PROUD and humbled’ – a project to help youngsters who have experienced trauma in Coventry and Warwickshire has been recognised at an award ceremony.
The Trauma Vanguard team at NHS Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board has been highly commended in two categories at the HSJ Patient Safety Awards for their Positive Directions project.
The programme tackles the physical, mental, and social challenges faced by children and young people who have experienced significant trauma.
It aims to create a more supportive and understanding environment by addressing the impact of trauma on an individual’s health.
Lyn Ranson, Clinical Consultant Lead for the Trauma Vanguard team, said: “We are incredibly proud and humbled.
“This recognition is testament to our multi-agency team, who work tirelessly to support children and families facing complex circumstances – changing our focus from ‘what’s wrong with you’, to ‘what’s happened to you’.
“Our model, led by the voices of young people themselves, is driving meaningful system change. We thank everyone who has been part of this journey and look forward to continuing to improve outcomes for children and families.”
