A HIGH-ACHIEVING cadet from Rugby has been appointed to represent The Queen in Warwickshire.
Ceri Abbit of the Rugby Troop of the Army Cadet Force was awarded the title role of Lord-Lieutenant Cadet by Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire Timothy Cox, and will assist Mr Cox who is Her Majesty’s representative in the county.
The Avon Valley School pupil works hard to raise funds for the Royal British Legion and other service charities.
Ceri, who is currently taking her GCSEs, is intending to pursue a career in the military following the end of the summer term.
Headteacher Alison Davies said: “Ceri is a credit to our school and has been a superb role model to her peers. She is a polite and well mannered student who always works hard and tries her best. This is a wonderful achievement and Ceri should be extremely proud of herself. We wish her all the best for the future.”
