Rugby caregivers honoured on International Nurses Day

Rugby Editorial 17th May, 2021   0

‘COMPASSIONATE and committed’ nurses in Rugby have been honoured on International Nurses Day.

Residents and staff at Overslade House care home in Rugby gave gifts to the in-house nursing team.

And during their weekly flower arranging session, residents decided to create bouquets of hand-wrapped posies and send them to their chosen nurse team at the Hospital of St Cross’ Cedar Ward, each containing a personal thank-you card.

Violeta Baesu, General Manager at the home, said: “This year, more than ever, we are hugely indebted to all our care staff, and we are incredibly proud to applaud their extraordinary efforts and commitment.

“Our nurses and staff are hard-working, dedicated, and passionate about caring for others, and that compassion and commitment has shone through even more over the past year.

“They continue to work tirelessly, and I’m proud of the professionalism and duty of care they uphold. All their efforts are focused on delivering the best possible care for our residents, so it’s nice to take this time to show our appreciation in return.

“It is also lovely our residents wished to celebrate the hard working nurse team at Cedar Ward in St Cross Hospital, they too are an amazing team”.

Coinciding with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, International Nurses Day, held on May 12, is a day to celebrate and give thanks for the dedication of caregivers everywhere.
