Rugby firm helps keep pitches perfect at World Cup

MESSI and Ronaldo will not be the main focus for all as the World Cup kicks off in Russia.

Staff at a Rugby firm will be hoping everything is pitch perfect for the superstar footballers to display their fancy footwork.

Bernhard and Company ensured groundsmen in Russia had the sharpest tools for the job when preparing the pitches. The Bilton Road-based firm has supplied sharpening equipment, via its Russian distributor Golf Technology, for machinery at three of the tournament’s venues.

Renata Mundim, Bernhard and Company’s turf health expert went to Russia to ensure all was well with the cutting systems supplied.

Company director Iqtidar Hassan said: “This is an exciting time for us.

“Whilst the eyes of the world will be fixated on the players, some of us will be scrutinizing the playability and quality of the turf.”

Bernhard’s systems help keep golf courses and other major sporting venues around the world in tip-top playing condition.
