Rugby Literary Festival to return in autumn

RUGBY Literary Festival is returning in the autumn, following a successful inaugural event last year.

The festival will take place across the town centre from Friday October 3 until Sunday October 5.

Organisers Rugby First, in partnership with local author Lindsay Woodward and other groups and organisations, are planning to expand the festival – and want to hear from anyone interested in holding an event.

The organisers say the event will comprise storytelling, workshops, book fairs, authors, discussion panels, competitions, street art, dressed windows, and more.

New for this year is a special Family Day on Sunday October 5, featuring free workshops, a story trail and giveaways for children.

Lindsay said: “I am thrilled that the festival is returning again as it proved so popular last year.

“This year’s theme will be The Lost Chapter, and the programme is already bigger than last year’s, and with so much more variety. No matter who you are or what your interests are, I think there is something for you.”

Rugby First Business Director Linda Lowne added: “Last year’s festival proved extremely popular and attracted local people and visitors from further afield.

“As well as looking for people to organise events or be part of the Book Fair, we are also looking for local businesses to host events and dress their windows – so in either case, please get in touch.”
