Rugby man arrested after police spot suspected drug deal

A RUGBY man was arrested on Monday (September 5) after police spotted a suspected drug deal.

That afternoon, officers from Rugby Proactive CID spotted a car involved in what they believed to be a drugs deal.

They stopped the vehicle in Bath Street and discovered cash, cannabis and mobile phones.

The driver of the car, a man from Rugby, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

A search of the man’s home also revealed more cannabis, cash and scales.

Later that night he was released on police bail while enquiries continue.
