Rugby Police report busy start to the week

POLICE in Rugby have had a busy week so far.

A spokesperson on social media said the force made a number of arrests and recovered stolen cars on the evenings of Sunday (January 26) and Monday (January 27).

A man in Rugby was arrested after he allegedly used a can of CS gas to threaten someone.

Officers also arrested Carl Pearson, who was wanted in connection with 32 thefts from shops in Rugby. He has since been charged and remanded to appear in court.




Michael Dowling, who was wanted on recall to prison, was also arrested.

A car was stopped after reports the driver may be drunk. He was already disqualified from driving following a conviction for drink driving, and a breathalyser test showed he was over twice the legal limit.


Another driver who was disqualified for drink driving was stopped and his car seized.

A driver wanted by Essex Police since 2017 was stopped and arrested.

And two cars were recovered after being stolen on the same day – one within 20 minutes.
