HUNDREDS of food items have been donated by kind Avon Valley School students to Rugby’s Foodbank.
The school’s achievement leader Carole Labreize said: “Our students have again this year donated hundreds of items which will support people in the local community.”
Head teacher Alison Davies said: “This is another wonderful example of the kindness our students are capable of. I thank everyone who has contributed and made this collection a huge success.”
SUPERMARKET shoppers can easily donate to Rugby Foodbank while stocking up for Christmas.
Asda in Rugby has set up a ‘Fight Hunger Create Change’ collection point at the front of the store.
Alison Scrace, Community Champion for Asda Rugby, said: “The generosity of our customers and colleagues is always fantastic and will hopefully go a long way to helping those who need it most in our local community.”
A CLIFTON-based event promotion company is helping Rugby Foodbank to feed those in need at Christmas.
Staff at Envisage Promotions have organised a collection of food items, toiletries and Christmas items to enable families to receive a three day food parcel from the charity.
Director Nichola Clydesdale said: “We feel it is important to support a charity that works locally. We would be delighted to hear from any local companies would like to join us.”
