Rugby retail park to improve car access

Rugby Editorial 6th Dec, 2016 Updated: 6th Dec, 2016   0

NEW access roads will be built as part of the Elliott’s Field extension, raising hopes the Christmas shopping traffic chaos at the retail park will not be repeated.

Plans for the extension reveal two new roads into the new car park – one opposite Junction One Retail Park, and one halfway between that and the Tesco roundabout.

The new car park will be linked to the existing one, meaning the retail park will have three access roads.

The park currently only has one access road – which has been clogging up since Black Friday, prompting Rugbeians to describe the car park as a ‘nightmare’ with some shoppers reporting delays of up to one hour when trying to leave the site.

Plans for the extension were approved last week.
