IT’S all go for a Rugby band after they released their debut album.

The Strawhouse Singers, who recently released Together in Harmony, have been asked to appear as guest artists at the regional final of the national talent competition Teenstar UK, on Saturday (April 18).

The choir has also been invited to perform at the Mayor of Rugby’s official ceremony at St Andrew’s church, in June.

And their concert at Arnold House in July will be one of the featured events at this year’s Rugby Festival of Culture.

Organised by Rugby record label Big Help Management, their creative director Nicky Newman said: “Rugby has an abundance of talented young performers.

“These young people are now starting to achieve results at national level – including gaining the attention of Sony Music who visited Rugby last month to attend a private showcase at our training centre.”

The group holds regular auditions for new members and are always looking for Rugby singers aged 13 to 19.

*RUGBY girl Abby Huett stormed through the latest round of TeenStar UK.

Abby, 12, earned high praise from the judges for her performance of the song ‘With You’ from the musical Ghost.

The young vocalist – also a member of Strawhouse Singers – goes through to the area finals which take place at the end of May.
